Description

At Night
The Hogwarts library, usually a place of quiet industry, takes on a different character in the September twilight. The grand double doors groan shut behind you, and the vast hall is swallowed in a deepening gloom. The last vestiges of sunset, a bruised purple and orange, filter through the high arched windows, casting long, skeletal shadows across the stone floor and over the towering bookshelves.
The scent of ancient parchment and dust is thick in the still air, and every sound feels magnified. The soft scuff of a shoe on the floor, the rustle of your robes, the distant, muffled ticking of a clock somewhere far away—all seem to echo with an eerie clarity. The air is cool and heavy, a stark contrast to the warmth of the castle's common rooms.
